Part of the 37th Blue Origin Mission to Space

Adonis was part of the 37th Blue Origin mission to space in December 2025. They went up with the New Shepard spacecraft, which was named after astronaut Alan Shepard, the first American in space which is Blue Origin’s fully reusable, suborbital rocket system built for human flight. They crossed the Kármán line (100 km/62 miles above sea level), the internationally recognized boundary of space and experienced several minutes of weightlessness and life-changing views of Earth.

As well as this being a childhood dream, this is also closely linked to Adonis’ work and passion around natural resources and new technologies (both critical elements of this flight as the New Shepard’s engine is fuelled by highly efficient liquid oxygen and hydrogen and the engine combustion is water vapor with no carbon emissions) as well his interests around research, science and the future of space travel.

Pella supports a range of philanthropic causes through it’s own foundations and others

Music for the Children was founded to help ill, abandoned and abused children in South Africa in 2005 and supports causes that do not receive government aid.

Ongoing initiatives and fundraising efforts include:

Providing food for an orphanage which looks after 80 children
Building up music and book libraries in schools
Provision of gifts to disadvantaged pre-schools – presents, clothing, books, blankets
Creating links with schools running communal sports days and sharing resources
Setting up and supporting the With Wheels project which sources mobility devices

Aligned with the Pella ethos, the Pouroulis Foundation believes in investing in future generations and has a specific focus on the importance of education, health and child well-being.

The Foundation has funded a number of scholarships and bursaries for primary and secondary education in India, Europe and Africa. 

The Pouroulis Foundation is currently supporting the University of Cambridge through a four-year research project within the Department of Archaeology themed ‘Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean’. The Foundation has also funded the appointment of a Senior Research Associate working on the reconstruction of the deep histories of human origins.

With its wide presence in Africa, Pella also has a strong connection to the Tusk Foundation and whole-heartedly endorses Tusk Foundation’s mission of supporting conservation efforts.
